Theo is climbing quickly, and within arm’s distance of reaching the opening. You give him a fearful look then slam the window closed and throw the curtains shut just as the door opens. There is a rush of panic through your body, you feel sick knowing the inevitable is coming.
You turn, eyes bulging from your skull to face Cal. He enters the room at an angle, already holding the lightsaber hilt in his hand. He must have felt your panic before opening the door and his eyes scan across the room trying to determine what has you so wound up. His body looks tense and ready for a fight, it doesn’t relax when he finishes visually clearing the immediate area. Cal’s gaze turns to the window behind you and he moves in a predatory fashion towards it.
You wave frantically with both hands and then point hard to your temple, silently willing him to read your mind. Cal stops moving forward and looks right into your eyes, studying you.
The thoughts in your head ramble out a string of sentences trying to get your point across quickly. ‘Cal, Theo is here, he saw you enter the building and thinks you are here to attack me, he is outside the window. Please don’t kill him. I don’t know what to do.”
Cal narrows his eyes then nods slowly while backing out of the room. The door closes but you do not hear the lock slide back into place. You breathe the tiniest sigh of relief but it is short-lived. Barely a heartbeat later the window opens with force and there is movement behind the curtain. You watch as Theo pushes through the fabric, leaving a gap, the dark of outside peeking through the opening.
Theo looks anxious and glances once at the door before closing the distance to grab your arms. He pulls you towards the only means of escape before leaning close to speak in a near silent tone.
“Are you insane?” He hisses. “We need to get out of here!”
“Theo, I’m fine, you need to go!” You whisper back, but your fear is causing the words to come out louder than intended.
Theo ignores you, his eyes now set on the front door. He releases your arm to reach for his own lightsaber and pushes softly past you, his body preparing to defend you both. His hand hovers over the hidden area he normally keeps his lightsaber, but he hasn’t yet grasped the hilt.
Theo cautiously moves towards the front door, and you immediately grab his readying arm and attempt to pull him away from the danger. He gives you a disapproving look and tries to shake you off but you hang on desperately. Instead, he pulls you both forward as you feebly resist, your feet drag across the ground against your will.
As he moves you glimpse the lightsaber hidden at his side. You feel terrified at the impending battle; you know Cal will kill Theo if there is a confrontation. Your mind quickly churns through everything you could do to prevent this. Most of your ideas are impossible, your mind forgetting what you are physically capable of at this moment.
“I can sense him. He’s standing outside your door.” Theo is speaking as quietly as he can.
“I don’t want to watch you die, please leave.” You beg again, trying to pull him away with all your strength.
Theo finally stops moving to your relief and turns to hold you in place. “We have to go, I'll take us to safety.”
Your eyes fill with tears, and you look at the door in terror. While you want to get Theo out but if you leave with him, Cal will surely pursue. You try another attempt to find the middle ground. “Okay, I’ll come with you. Please go first, I’ll follow. You’re in more danger from him.”
“There’s no chance that I’m leaving here without you.” Theo says not letting go of your arms, his face so close to your own.
His eyes focus on you, trying to convey the danger he believes you are in. There is a flicker of love in his expression, and you find yourself torn by the situation. The thoughts cut short when you hear the door click open.
Your stomach drops, and it feels like everything is happening in slow motion. Theo and you turn to see Cal’s shadowed form standing menacingly in the doorway, his lightsaber already activated. The red glow casts ominous lighting across his features making him appear more monster than man. You suddenly feel as though you are in that vent again, watching in horror but unable to do anything.
For the first time since meeting Cal, you feel genuine terror in his presence, your whole body trembles. Your brain kicks into autopilot and you claw at Theo’s arm in another pathetic attempt to pull him away.
“She won’t be leaving with you.” Cal says, his voice low and full of authority.
His features change as he steps further into the lit room. His face is fully visible, and the fear subsides a bit inside your mind. Cal glares at Theo but does not raise his lightsaber to attack.
Theo doesn’t look away from Cal and side steps to shield you with his body. You resist as much as you can, trying to push him backwards instead. In the commotion, you pluck his hidden lightsaber off his body then back away towards the window behind you.
“Cal Kestis.” Theo says furiously, you watch as he reaches for his lightsaber.
“Theo, how disappointing to find you here.” Cal retorts.
Theo finally looks away when his hand doesn’t grasp the hilt that should be at his side. He frantically checks his belt and scans the surrounding area.
Cal meets your gaze the moment that Theo looks away. He sees you holding the lightsaber and you stare back in panic. He gives you a curious look before returning his eyes to Theo. You creep backwards until you bump up against the open window.
“Missing something?” Cal mocks.
Theo whips around to look at Cal, expecting to see the Inquisitor holding his lightsaber.
“Oh, not me.” Cal chuckles darkly, “It seems she betrayed you.”
Theo follows Cal’s gaze to see you holding his lightsaber. “What are you doing?” Theo looks horrified by the turn of events.
“I won’t let you fight him, I won’t watch you die too.” Your voice shakes as you speak.
There isn’t a world where you let them kill one another so you do the only logical thing you can. You turn and jump out the open window, a stolen lightsaber in hand. Trying to slow your fall by grabbing at the building on the way down. You only end up rotating your body as you fall from the second story. Landing on your side, you hit the ground hard while feeling pain in your shoulder, but you don’t have time to care.
You take off running down the streets, heading for the landing bay. You think you could beat Theo to the bay and steal a ship, or maybe just hide in the Scythe. Assuming Cal didn’t just kill a defenseless Jedi the moment you fell. Then you hear Theo’s voice echo through the streets, he is calling after you; he is still alive.
Darting down alleyways you try to find a place to hide, you realize you cannot carry out your original plan. You aren’t sure what to do about the lightsaber in your hands; you don’t want Theo to be without it.
Suddenly you notice you are near the bookshop that Kaahlii owns, and you get an idea. You run to the door and pound on it frantically, then glance around hoping Theo hasn’t seen you yet.
It takes more time than you would like for a light to turn on upstairs. You hold your breath and then see the curtains moving, Kaahlii finally peeks through the window, glancing across the darkened streets. You step back away from the door and wave frantically, she notices and disappears from view.
You look around wildly, hoping not to be discovered. Distracted, you jump when you hear the glass door noisily unlock it for you. You rush inside and she closes and locks the door behind you.
“What is wrong?” she asks, peering into your face. Then she sees the lightsaber in your hands and her eyes widen and she takes a step back. “You’re a Jedi?”
Your eyebrows shoot up in surprise and you look down and the hilt in your hands. You recover and explain at light-speed.
“No, I’m not. I had to take it from a Jedi to save him, but I want to get it back to him but I can’t let him find me. I need help, I need him to leave this planet, he can’t find me or he’ll be in danger. Can you help me? I’m so sorry Kaahlii, I didn’t know where else to go.” You are hyperventilating as you finish speaking.
She stares hard at you, trying to make sense of your story. Then she sighs and speaks, “I will help you, but after I do, you will explain everything. I want to know how much danger you have put me in. ”
You let out a sob, “Thank you!”
“Go upstairs and I will let you know when it is safe.” She says, not looking at you. She takes the lightsaber and hides it amongst her flowing clothes.
You do as she says and run upstairs to hide yourself. Unable to help it, you stay close enough to hear the conversation below but stay completely out of sight. You listen as the front door opens and you hear Kaahlii hiss the word, “Jedi.”
It is quiet for a moment, and then there is a set of large footsteps that enter the store. There is no more noise until you hear Theo’s voice. “How do you have this?”
There is no answer from Kaahlii and Theo speaks again, “Thank you.”
“You must leave, Jedi. I want no trouble from the Empire, I do not deal in hiding fugitives.” She says firmly.
“Where is she?” he asks.
“She is trying to protect you. You must leave this planet. I will alert the Empire of your presence.” She threatens.
“I don’t understand,” Theo responds, “They’ll torture you for information, they’ll know that you helped me.”
“I have never helped a Jedi, I am simply not a thief.” She snaps back.
“But-” Theo starts.
“Go now.” She encourages. There is another long pause then the door opens and closes and you let out a sigh of relief.
You hear Kaahlii slowly coming up the stairs. And you run to her, grasping her hands and dropping to your knees before her. “Thank you so much! I can never repay you for what you have done for me tonight.” You bow your head.
“Does your Inquisitor know he is here?” She asks.
You look up in shock, “How do you know about-”
She glances at your clothes, “I heard an Inquisitor had traveled to our city. They are easy to miss in their black clothes. When you entered my store, I thought perhaps it was you. But you were far too kind to be one of them, so I brushed it off, assuming it was a coincidence that you wore their color. But now I see the truth. You belong to one of them.”
“I’m sorry.” You look back down at the floor.
“I’ve always tried to avoid the war. Then you show up.” She says, looking annoyed but you can see a twinkle in her eyes.
“No trouble will come your way, I won’t let anything happen to you or your livelihood.” You promise.
She sighs, “You can’t leave yet or the Jedi will surely find you. We can watch the sky while you tell me about how you came into this mess.”
Kaahlii leads you back downstairs and makes a pot of tea, she gestures for you to take a seat near the window so that you can ensure that Theo’s ship, your old craft, leaves before you head back out. During the time you wait to see his familiar ship depart you tell Kaahlii everything about the past few days, your time in the Rebellion, and the chance of pregnancy.
At the last part, she disappears and brings back a small tin of herbs. “I do not use this anymore as I’m sure you can tell. However, when I was young, it was nice to have on hand. Consume a pinch after each time that you…” She trails off and you understand what she means. “It won’t stop a life if one has already taken, but it will prevent further possibilities.”
You blush but thank her and accept the tin; she provides you with the information to get more of the herbs, information that you will pass along to Cal. You change the subject to tell her how much you have enjoyed her invention. She seems moderately pleased by the compliments, but she grows excited when you offer critiques.
This is clearly a woman who strives for improvement, not stroking her ego. You have immense respect for her and secretly hope to be like her one day. She is such a powerful woman, and you feel honored to be accepted by her.
“I wish I could see you more often than I likely will.” You say sadly as you watch Theo’s ship take off into the night sky.
“This is more often than I had expected.” She says, “Remember, you can reach out on my invention. But no conversations about politics.”
You smile, “Of course! Thank you again for helping me, I will be in touch.” You bend down to hug the tiny woman before heading out the front door, which she promptly locks behind you. With a wave, you head back down the street, hoping that Cal is still waiting for you.
As you get to the building, you look up at the now closed window you fell out of, your shoulder aches now that the adrenaline has worn off. It will bruise but you should be fine. You head inside past the front desk and knock on the room door, the key locked inside.
You wait with an excitement in your belly as you hear footsteps on the other side of the door. The door swings open and Cal quickly pulls you inside before closing the door and pressing you against it. Your shoulder throbs but you say nothing about the discomfort.
He doesn’t speak and neither do you, instead he glances down at your mouth before kissing you deeply. His tongue quickly shoves its way inside your mouth which you willingly accept. You grab at the fabric of his uniform, trying to pull him closer. Cal’s hands find your hips and he presses himself against you, grinding his growing erection against your own clothed body.
A moan escapes you and you bite at his lower lip. You feel Cal smirk against your mouth at your neediness and he grabs your hips tighter before lifting you high to fold you over his shoulder. You squeak in surprise and you feel the clasp of your cloak being opened by Cal’s use of the Force. It falls off your body to the floor as Cal strides across the room to place you on the bed.
He stands over you, studying your face. “That was quick thinking. You made the right call.” He says, inferring so much more in just a few words. He tugs your boots and socks off.
“I’m sorry it happened.” You say but he only shakes his head.
“Your impulsiveness saves you almost as often as it gets you into trouble.” He scolds as his fingers make quick work of his armor.
Once only his uniform remains, he climbs on top of you and lifts you higher on the bed. His lips connecting with yours again, he seems desperate to be close to you. You kiss back with equal fervor until he sits up again to remove his shirt and undershirt. As usual, you are powerless to resist looking over his muscular form.
“I have been so eager to return to you. I should have killed the Jedi for making me wait longer to have you back beneath me.” Cal speaks as his hands move to untie your dress then push it up over your hips to slide the offending fabric past your head along with the makeshift pouch. He throws both objects to the side and you hear them thud softly on the floor.
“Thank you for not killing him.” You say as you sit up to work at the clasp of his pants. It is obvious you are just desperate to get him out of his clothes.
Cal stares down at your fingers as you work, “I assumed it would make our reunion less sweet if I had.” He climbs off the bed to take off his own boots and slide out of his remaining clothes before spreading your legs and crawling between them.
You chuckle, “I may have had a hard time moving past that.”
Cal leans down to capture your lips again, one hand cupping the back of your neck while the other lines his cock up with your waiting cunt. The kiss slows as Cal sinks himself deep into your heat. Both of you let out sounds of pleasure at the sensation of being joined again.
Cal moves and it’s rough but not aggressive, he has clearly missed you. It feels so good and you move to meet his forceful motions. The sound of skin slapping together fills the room and you cry out into his mouth with each intentional stroke.
He stops kissing you and places both arms on either side of your head watching you as he thrusts harder. Without being asked, you meet his heated gaze, you could stay in this moment forever. He always makes you feel special when he looks at you this way, and you want to make him feel the same.
“Cal?” you say in a quiet voice as he pumps into you.
He tilts his head, silently giving you permission to speak again.
You reach up to wrap your hands around the back of his neck before speaking. You pull him closer and soften your expression before saying, “I love you.”
It was just like you had imagined it would be. Cal looks shocked first, then a smile breaks out across his face. His green eyes crinkle and for a moment he looks different, like the man he likely was before joining the Empire.
He closes the remaining distance to kiss you gently, the pace of his thrusts slowing as he worships your lips. He pulls back a fraction of an inch to look into your eyes and his face becomes very serious again. You worry that there is some unknown problem that arose by confessing your feelings.
“I love you.” He says in a low tone, “You are the most important thing in my life, I will do everything in my power to make you happy.”
You tilt your head back slightly, asking him to kiss you again. He obliges and you share another passionate kiss. Cal stays close but his body slowly returns to the needy pace from before. You allow the change and return to meeting his thrusts, wanting it just as bad.
Cal shifts his weight onto one arm so that he can reach between your bodies to stimulate you further. You whine into his mouth as the sensation causes your body to tighten.
“Say it again.” Cal mumbles against your lips.
“I love you.” You cry out as his thrusts become more forceful.
The kissing stops as neither of you can keep up the additional focus required as you both chase your orgasms.
“Again.” He whispers, his nose brushing against yours. You are trying desperately to keep your eyes open but it is becoming difficult with the building pleasure.
“I love you.” Comes out in more of a whimper as your body prepares for release.
“Once more.” Cal growls, his pace getting sloppy.
The sound of his voice, raspy with need, pushes you over the edge and you clench around him rhythmically. You squeak out, “I love you.”
Cal squeezes his eyes tight as he follows you over the edge. He cums deep inside of you, his hand pulls out from between your bodies and he crashes his lips onto yours, pulling you tightly into him. There is only pure bliss as you both come down from the high. Cal presses his forehead against yours, his eyes closed, breathing you in. You feel at peace, safe and loved, no longer worried about anything except being with Cal.
He lifts your body slightly and uses the Force to tug the covers down then picks you up over the edge of the blanket to lay you on the sheets. Cal climbs into the bed with you, covering you both with the blankets. Using the Force again to turn off the lights. He pulls you tight against his chest, burying his face in your hair as you snuggle into his chest. The sound of both your breathing slows as you drift off in each other's arms.
